Sanetsch *****

There is a cliff band more than one km long on the north side of the Sanetsch Pass. Even from afar, you can tell that this colorful limestone is solid and high quality. You will not be disappointed! When the Remy Brothers put up “Au Bord du Vide” in 1982, they got a taste of the vast potential. Since then, innumerous routes have been established, most of which in the meantime have been cleaned up, retrofitted, and straightened out. The climbing on this water featured limestone is steep, airy, and spectacular. Despite the retrofitting, the leads can still feel very heady and exposed.

Due to construction work on the high-voltage power line, access to the “Barrage” sector is temporarily closed. Unfortunately, it is unclear how long the work will take.

Due to increasingly chaotic conditions caused by wild camping and overnight stays in vehicles, the municipality of Savièse has taken drastic measures: Effective immediately, overnight stays are prohibited throughout the entire Sanetsch area. The ban applies to RVs, campervans, minibuses, and tents.

The municipality recommends the following alternative accommodations instead:

Please strictly adhere to these new regulations to avoid further trouble in the area. Through a petition, we are seeking dialogue with the municipality to achieve a sustainable and fair long-term solution for us climbers, campers, and outdoor enthusiasts.
