Bettlerstock ****

This striking pillar is just begging to be climbed. The limestone is top quality and sharp as chili in places. Plus, it's in a great spot above the fog line. You can climb at Bettlerstock all year round: in summer, there is usually a cool breeze, and on nice winter days, the sun quickly warms up the rock on the south side, allowing you to climb in a T-shirt. Thanks to the ski lift, you can ski right to the foot of the wall. While the south face offers mostly routes in the upper grades, beginners will find a training route on the north side that leads over the north ridge to the imposing summit.
