Gersau ***

Three sunny little climbing crags high above the Vierwaldstättersee. The mild climate on the Southwest side of the Rigi-Hochflue makes climbing during winter possible. The one obvious exception is the “Schattewändli” (Little Shady Wall) which like its name implies, is usually in the shade. The approach hike to “Föhnenberg” is a bit longer but well worth it, since “Sunneplättli” can be pretty crowded. Please be aware that this entire area is prone to forest fires and campfires are strictly forbidden. Dispose of your cigarette butts properly.
