Churfirsten ****

A great number of routes climb the steep south face of the Churfirsten. Most are in the “extrem” or hard category. All of them, however, share a few things in common: exposed climbing on sharp limestone with amazing views down to Walen Lake.The airy exposure and mostly steep approaches are not for everybody. But for those with the endurance and a good sense of balance, these routes weave through fantastic jagged terrain and will leave you with unforgettable memories. The Brisi West Face, the “Munigrind” on the Tristencholben, or the “Liechtblick” route on the Frümsel East Face are recommended for beginners. More than a hundred pitches ranging from 3a to 8c await you in the new Gluristal crag.
