For those who love long challenging limestone routes, Wenden is the place to be. The sheer number of routes within such a beautiful area of impressive rock towers is reason alone to get on it! All of these routes are heady and full on game on. Bolt spacing lends itself to placing your own gear to zip up the run outs. Wenden Newbies often can develop a sense for the place by first doing some of the routes on the Reissend Nollen or the Pfaffenhut. Be careful when there is lingering snow on the upper ledges above the routes: Immediate rock fall danger! The same can occur during thunder storms. The approaches are also very exposed. In the summer months, the infamous Wenden afternoon fog can envelope the walls, so having extra warm layers is recommended!
