Krönten ***

Irene and Markus Wyrsch were the hut wardens of the Krönten Hut for 46 years. Caring for the hut and delighting guests with delicious meals was their life’s passion. In addition, they established and equipped more than 200 outstanding plaisir routes on the surrounding crags. A huge thank-you goes to Irene and Markus for their extraordinary contribution. Today, the baton has been passed to Irene Aeberhard and Ueli Arnold, who continue the tradition. Krönten is an ideal area for climbing camps. The hut is surrounded by numerous crags great for warming up for the long routes on the Päuggenstöckli. The Gwächten offers three long routes with an alpine feel for the experienced climber. In the “Überhang” Sector, you can climb even when it is raining. Plenty of boulder problems are also available. The climbing season goes from early July to the end of September.
