Eiger *****
A place once only to be considered by the most hardened alpinists, it is now music to the ears of ambitious sport climbers. The right side of the Eiger North Face has first class rock quality and hard climbing. It goes without saying, Eiger is no pony show and shouldn’t be your first rodeo. The weather is rough and a thunderstorm can make things dangerous fast. Careful preparation and warm clothes even on hot days is mandatory. Ideally climb when the freezing point is at 4000-5000m elevation. Sunnier but no less alpine is the south face.
