Rüchi – Kaltbrunnental ****

The awesome crags and walls in the Kaltenbrunnen Valley are some of the best in the Jura. The lower number of routes to choose from is the only thing separating it from the better known crags. The limestone is perfectly featured with pockets and shallow scoops. Lines like “I.N.R.I.” or “Ruchi Ranger” are as good as it gets. The historical Kaltbrunnental with its ancient caves and ruins lies in a Protected Forest Area. This fabulous wooded wonderland will remain untouched. Its preservation has been assured for a hundred years.
