Gotthard ****

The Gotthard Pass is a climber's paradise. The granite is rough and bomber, climbing shoes grip onto almost everything, and the protection is usually perfect. The granite peaks are scattered throughout a lovely, family-friendly environment and offer mainly single-pitch routes. Multi-pitch novices will find ideal terrain in the “Delta” and “Placca delle Marmotte” sectors. Advanced climbers will (hopefully) be happy at “Valletta.” The best conditions are in summer and on warm autumn days. Incidentally, the Gotthard is also an international bouldering mecca. Have fun!
