The approach is long enough you almost certainly will have the rock to yourselves. For “mere mortals” (most climbers), “Himmelsleiter” is an absolutely cool day climb. For the hardcore, Walti Britschgi put up and suggests the following link up: First climb “Himmelsleiter”, then rappel down “Bärenschulter”. Gulp down some spring water, then climb “Mokassin”. After climbing “Mokassin”, quench your thirst one more time. Now hop on “Bärenschulter” and fire it, and finally rap down “Himmelsleiter”.

New construction of the dam wall at Lake Grimsel. Entering the dam wall is prohibited during the construction phase (approx. until 2025). Access to the climbing areas will take place from the "summer hole". The Grimsel Hospice is open.
