Welschenrohr ****

The huge grotto cave above Welschenrohr is pretty unique for the Solothurn Jura. Most of the attention is focused around the crowd pleaser route “Crepuscule Transfert” in the Schafloch and it indeed does climb as well as it looks. The rest of the routes in the grotto are nice, but quite short and a bit dirty. The “Glatti Flue” has three beautiful free routes on high quality water worn stone. Aid climbers also enjoy dangling on this little “big wall” in the Jura, complete with even a “King Swing” on the route “Unsinnige”.
