Chli Glatten ***
This ever popular climbing destination of Schachental is easily accessible, has solid rock, and has plenty of routes to choose from. In the Sectors “Sudpfeiler“ and “Plattenwand“, you will find mostly technical crimpy face climbs. On the other hand, in the “Flacher Pfeiler“ and “Gelber Pfeiler“ sectors, steep pumpy athletic climbs prevail. Due to the untiring efforts of developers’ Heinz Muller and Hans Gisler, a never ending supply of climbs are available.

Patrik Müller reports the following:
This time I have a special warning: For some time now, it has been strongly recommended that climbers in the Chli Glatten area no longer leave their backpacks and possibly also hiking poles at the foot of the wall, but hang them one “level” higher. This is because marmots seem to take particular pleasure in feasting on the sweat-soaked backpack straps and backs, as well as walking stick loops. Their sharp little teeth tear the equipment to shreds, as recent incidents show.
