Nollen Erstfeld **

Train Engineer Toni Zimmermann put up a few routes on the Nollen above Erstfeld in the 60s. The fixed protection was pretty sparce, but what was, was bomber (Swiss Railway brand). Since then, all of the routes have been Plaisir standard retrobolted. The “Toni Zimmermann Way” is the Nollen classic. A casual Sunday afternoon climb on grippy gneiss ascends the little ridge to the summit bench complete with a view. The descent is comfortable and quick down the hiking trail. The routes on the crag have been freshly rebolted. Two to three days are needed following rainfall until it is climbable again. The area is easily accessed with public transportation.
