Following the tracks of Dinosaurs. Their tracks can be found in the rock slabs down low on the climbs. Today, however, T. Rex would be amazed by how worn the handholds on “Grande arête” are. The traverse is popular and of unmatched scenic beauty. The difficult sections are very brief (and easily bypassed). The south face is a popular climbing area in the winter. Erik Detmer put up all the new routes and developed the crag. Warning: The descent down through the steep woods after dark can be very treacherous (take a headlamp along). The south face is very exposed to rockfall and should be avoided during holidays when large crowds climb along the “Grande arête”.
