Welschenrohr ****

The huge grotto cave above Welschenrohr is pretty unique for the Solothurn Jura. Most of the attention is focused around the crowd pleaser route “Crepuscule Transfert” in the Schafloch and it indeed does climb as well as it looks. “Messias” climbs through the right side of “Glatti Flue” and is technically challenging climbing in very compact and water runneled rock. The routes on the “Grosskopf” are diverse and have all been rebolted. If you still have the guns for more after tackling these long routes, check out Schafloch.
