The massive wall right above Gondo speckled with roofs and big flakes is called La Sentinella. Paleari and Rossi opened the route up this forbidding wall in 1978. Since then, the “Rodini Sanguinarie” was retrofitted and offers nice face, crack, and dihedral climbing. “Mister Magoo” is a bit more challenging, but has really stellar sections like the perfect hand crack found on the 5th pitch. Beware: The route “La Diretta” is strictly off limits due to the extremely high risk of rock fall. For those who choose to ignore the warning, fines up to 10,000 CHF are charged… cash preferred.
