Rawyl *****

This biggest and best known sport climbing area in the Wallis offers high end climbers countless routes up to 9a+ and enough to last at least half your climbing career. The scenery is magnificent. The climbing on this wall is mostly strenuous, crimpy, and bouldery. For decades, top notch climbers from all over the world have made pilgrimages to Rawyl to test their mettle. In 2016, the Czech climbing sensation Adam Ondra blew away the Wallis scene when he very quickly (on the third try) freed a long standing project next to “La Cabane Au Canada”. The result: “ Hyper Finale” (9a+), which remains to date the hardest climb in Rawyl.
