Jansegg ****

The steep mid wall shield defines the Jansegg crag. This is a “one of a kind” wall with pockets and crimps in the best solid limestone you can imagine. The sintered limestone wall is short (12m) and clean. The routes left and right of the shield are longer and less steep. The crag sits in a very peaceful valley with views to the Gastlosen chain. The area is closed to climbing from May to July to protect the Peregrine Falcon breeding and nesting habitat. Springtime climbing can be wet depending on remaining snow. The sun disappears around 3pm (later until October later, earlier after November).
