Mezzegra ****

Besides “Sasso Pelo”, Mezzegra is the most beautiful climbing crag on the West shore of Lake Como.The majority of first ascents on the long cliffs at the base of Monte Tremezzo were by Fabrizio Maroni and Claudio Pagani. The sunny location speaks for itself and merits a visit during the cooler months. For those who consider the main sector to far to hike or the wall angle to flat to bother, should visit “Grotta di Mezzegra”. Way steep routes up tufas climb through the impressive cave. Without well trained guns (biceps) and an immensely strong core, don’t expect to get up much. This cave is a pumpfest and is great on warm days.
